Biographies

The Pioneer Society, founded in the early part of the 1900's, was the forerunner to the Crazy Mountain Museum Society. The Pioneer Society compiled two volumes, Pioneer Memories, Vol. 1 in 1960 and Pioneer Memories, Vol. 2 in 1981. These two volumes contain a good deal of information, including individual and family biographies, of early Sweet Grass County residents.
A third volume containing a number of biographies and items of various businesses is the Tri-County Atlas. It includes information of Meagher and Carbon Counties and was published in 1902. Some of the information also covers Stillwater and Wheatland Counties, as counties were still in the formation stages until about 1920.
